Sample Day Tours

We have arranged some excursions for your consideration. These are suggested itineraries, put together to maximise your enjoyment, in a time frame which can encompass a morning, a day, two days, or a week’s adventure. They are infinitely adaptable, depending on any specific interests you may have.

Inverness and Loch Ness

See the Highland Capital, its Castle and Cathedral.

Learn some of its fascinating history and visit the hill where Saint Columba made pilgrimage to the Pictish King, preaching “new Christianity” to the warrior Brood in his hill fortress around 550AD.

Speyside & Badenoch

In the Strath of the lovely River Spey, lie very many of the Highland Distilleries. Glen Grant, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas and other famous brands of single malt whiskies, emanate from this beautiful area.

The Isle of Skye

This day long excursion takes us via Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, beautiful Glenmoriston and onward through historic Kintail, the scene of a Jacobite battle. Past the Five Sisters Peaks and down into Lochalsh, we are soon "over the sea to Skye," pausing for a photograph of Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Duich.

The Black Isle

The Bonnie Black Isle is, on a bright summer’s day, not black. Nor on any other day is it an island. "Bonnie" (Scots for "beautiful") however it assuredly is and it affords the visitor many beautiful views, seascapes, wildlife and places of interest. The "Isle" is in fact a peninsula strategically lying between the broad expanses of two Firths, Moray and Cromarty.

The Glory of Ross

Still very unspoiled and remote Wester Ross is very often missed from the visitor’s itinerary, possibly through pressure of time.

If there is one area of the Highlands that affords different and breathtaking views as another bend of the road unwinds, then it is this spectacular area. Mirrored, majestic mountains, heather hills, tree lined lochs and wildlife abound here.

Macbeth

A uniquely entertaining blend of Scottish history, ancient Stone Circles, mysterious carved stones, witchcraft, folklore, – plus the facts and the myths of two of Scotland’s greatest legends - Macbeth and Malt Whisky!
